THE PERFORMATIVE SELF™ is designed to access and embody the creative unconscious through practices and experiments in breath, unadorned presence, written and spoken text, Kinetic Awareness®, and work with objects. It is a radical and intimate process addressing pre-performance, performance development, as well as actor reeducation.

The Performative Self™ offers new perspectives, expanded resources, a softening of psychophysical battles, and an attitude of inclusiveness born of mindfulness and awareness. Participants are invited to recognize content from their imaginal and somatic realms and to find form and refinement in its expression.  This is a multifaceted approach to incubating and materializing ideas, facing complexity, and developing and applying performance thinking, philosophy and practices to the creation of performance. It is equally applicable to the development and performance of art and to the performance of everyday life.

Formats include residencies, individual sessions* (recreated and redesigned for each unique individual), group classes and workshops.

Private instruction in The Performative Self™ is an intimate and radical process and training recreated and redesigned for each unique individual. It is equally applicable to the development and performance of art and to the performance of everyday life. It takes place in several formats: individual sessions or individual workshops at Physika Arts Studio in Ithaca, NY, residencies, or via telephone or Skype.
